Everyone working at Qualified Crane Training and Consulting LLC (QCT) are committed to ensuring everyone in the crane industry can have the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills that are required to be safe and competent in their respective roles. To do this we offer a wide range of complete on-site training programs that can be customized to fit our customer’s needs.

However, we also realize that some customers have the need to train a small number of people, or simply do not have the space required to host a large training session at their facility.

Overhead Crane Operator (OP-100)

Who Should Attend: Anyone who is designated to operate overhead cranes including both dedicated operators, whose primary job is the operation of a crane (cab or pulpit), and nondedicated operators who use a crane (floor or remote) as another tool in performing their job including, but not limited to, maintenance personnel, test personnel, and crane inspectors that operate overhead cranes to perform their specific work duties. Safety personnel and managers of crane operators are encouraged to attend as well.
Required for Successful Completion: Pass both a written and practical examination.
Course Description: The information presented in this course teaches individuals the Occupational Safety and Health Administration §1910.179 regulations and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers B30.2 standard requirements for crane and hoist operation. Our Overhead Crane Operator course includes both a classroom presentation and a hands-on practical  training with an operation test. OSHA and National Consensus Standards require that anyone operating an overhead crane be provided training that includes a written and practical examination (operation test) on the type of crane they will operate. The type of cranes the training can be completed for include top running overhead cranes, gantry cranes, monorails with underhung trolley or bridge, overhead underhung and stationary hoists, wall cranes and jib cranes.

This course will cover the same material as our OP-100. This course is held via Webinar utilizing Microsoft Teams, or software of your choice. This class can he held with multiple users logging into the meeting from different locations, or be held with all students being in one location and someone hosting the webinar.

 

Note: this course does not include practical training, which is a requirement to follow ASME, and CMAA. On site hands on training, and evaluation can be purchased separate or can be handled by the customer.

Safety personnel and managers of mobile crane operators are encouraged to attend as well.
Required for Successful Completion: Pass both a written and practical examination.
Course Description: This training is intended for anyone who operates a mobile crane during load handling activities including maintenance and inspection personnel. The information presented in this course teaches individuals the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) §1926 Subpart CC regulations and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers B30.5 “Mobile and Locomotive Cranes” standard requirements for mobile crane operation. Our Mobile Crane Operator course includes both a classroom presentation and a hands-on practical (operation test). OSHA and National Consensus Standards require that anyone operating a mobile crane be provided training that includes a written and practical training and examination (operational test) on the type of mobile crane they will operate. The type of cranes the training can be completed for include Hydraulic cranes, Crawler Cranes, Carry Deck cranes and Commercial Truck-Mounted Telescopic Boom Cranes.

The Course will include symbol identification, labeling and troubleshooting for North American crane brands such as P&H and Whiting, and European brands such as Konecranes and Demag.
