Course Description: This training is intended for anyone who is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical components of overhead cranes and hoists. This electrical print reading course covers the various types and purposes of electrical crane prints, and teaches the skills needed to interpret and troubleshoot a crane using them. The training will provide information on how to read and troubleshoot from both NEMA and IEC drawings. The Course will include symbol identification, labeling and troubleshooting for North American crane brands such as P&H and Whiting, and European brands such as Konecranes and Demag.

Component Electrical symbol identification
Single line, electrical diagram, and schematic overview
Function of the input, logic, and output elements of a control circuit
Symbol for various manually operated input devices, and identify symbols for various process actuated input devices and how they are used
Symbol identification for a relay / contactor and the associated contacts
Logic symbols, such as but not limited to symbols or a motor starter, and various output symbols
VFD and PLC logic symbols and troubleshooting from electrical drawings
